Organisers report record visitors to the Berwick St John Country Fayre

If you are ever looking for a day out with family and friends, to see and do something different, keep in mind the Berwick St John Country Fayre. You may have missed it for 2018 (it took place in September) but doubtless it will come round again.  Organised and run by volunteers from Berwick St John and the surrounding villages, over the years the Fayre has raised much needed funds for local charities. Since 1992 an incredible amount of money has been raised by this small community and over £200,000 has been given to these charities; this year's recipient being the Salisbury District Hospital Stars Appeal, who are raising funds towards a second MRI scanner.

There are a variety of things to see and do, including a delightful mishmash of vintage, classic and contemporary countryside machinery and vehicles. From working steam engines, ploughing and harrowing displays, tractor-pulling, log-splitting, fairground organs and sideshows to live animals, craft and food stalls and - its crowning glory - the most amazing Tea Tent complete with sofas!  Whilst entry is free you are encouraged to buy a raffle ticket towards the fund-raising.

The team at John Woolley Ltd were thrilled to sponsor the event and look forward to the announcement as to how much was raised for the Stars Appeal.

Absolutely agree with you John, the show had so much to see and the atmosphere was really relaxed. I'd missed this gem of an event in previous years' glad I've found it now. Congratulations and thanks to all the organisers, volunteers, exhibitors and contributors. A great day out for a great cause.
