The Greatest Little Show

‘Show time’ for the farming year is upon us and our Business Manager, Tracey Butterworth and her young son and daughter took themselves off to the one-day Ellingham Show, held annually in the beautiful surroundings of the Somerley Estate, near Ringwood.

Tracey writes: It was a beautiful hot day but still attracted visitors galore. Even though Ellingham must be one of the smallest agricultural shows in the south, there was so much to see and do. What with farm animals and pets, vintage machinery, craft stalls, shearing demonstrations and showing classes, there was truly something for everyone. This was our first visit to the Ellingham Show and we came away with lots of lovely local produce from the exhibitor stands. Ellingham is a proper country show, organised by and for the local community. We will certainly be back next year....

You have to share your enclosure with all sorts these days.

The shearing demonstrator’s dream: an attentive audience and cooperative sheep!

And she's a beauty too.

The Hare and the Tortoise perhaps? But we only had a rabbit...
